Photo-dokumental series Crossing by Katarzyna Krynska is part of an interdisciplinary project The Promised City, which is dedicated to the theme of searching for happiness and promise in contemporary cities like Berlin, Warsaw and Mumbai.
Crossing is a series of photographs, which were taken in the Shelter-home for Underage and Penitentiary Institution for girls aged 13-21 years in Warsaw, Falenica. This closed institution with rigid order is established as educational and therapeutic support center for underage girls with difficult past.

'from parents', 'time of decay' two different points of view...
The inspiration to the photos was Prypeć, a place localized in a closed safety zone separated after a failure of IVth reactor of atomic power station in Czarnobyl. The series of photos "from parents" by Łukasz Jurewicz and "time of decay" by Katarzyna Kryńska are the record of reality 23 years after this breakdown. We invite you for a walk to a place absorbed by time.
