Winner of the 20th Julia Margaret Cameron Award for Women Photographers

Wonderful news!  I am pleased to share some exciting news about the 20th Julia Margaret Cameron Award for Women Photographers: 🏆 I won competition in professional fine art category with a series of toned cyanotypes from the Limpha project! 🥇 I would like to thank the jurors Elizabeth Avedon (Chair), Ann Jastrab, Elizabeth Krist and Julio Hardy for selecting my #artworks I am delighted, this is a very important project for me, where by deconstructing and redefining the value system, I see an opportunity for a world that offers diversity and choice rather than uniformity and necessity.

The exhibition, gala dinner, and award presentation will be held in Barcelona in April 2024, hosted by FotoNostrum, Mediterranean House of Photograph.

The Jurors Barbara Davidson and Elisabeth Biondi have selected the overall winner of the 16th Julia Margaret Cameron Award for Women Photographers, as well as 1st, 2nd, 3rd prize and Honorable Mentions in the thematic categories in sections Single Image and Series.

5TH BIENNIAL OF FINE ART & DOCUMENTARY PHOTOGRAPHY, BARCELONA

This 5th edition will be held in Barcelona in October 2018 exhibiting works selected from the 10th and 11th Julia Margaret Cameron Award, the 9th, 10th and 11th Pollux Awards, and other Awards hosted by The Photography Gala Awards.

The mission of the Biennial of Fine Art & Documentary Photography is the recognition and exhibition of new talents in artistic and documentary photography as well as the promotion of photography.

The 5th edition will be hosted in a non conventional venue: The space Nau Bostik, an initiative of the Catalonian architect Xavier Besana, has been installed in a factory that was abandoned for 10 years. After a hard work, still ongoing and with the Biennial activity cooperating nowadays, eleven halls totalizing 18,000n square feet, will be ready to host the Barcelona Foto Biennale, 5th edition of the Biennial.

Selected among 720 entries from 42 countries, and after a preselection done by the curatorial team of the Photography Gala Awards, the Juror has awarded works from Argentina, Australia, Belarus, Canada, China, Colombia, Cyprus, Dominican Republic, France, Germany, India, Israel, Italy, Latvia, Netherlands, Poland, Romania, Russia, Serbia, Spain, United States, Ukraine, United Arab Emirates, and United Kingdom.

Professional photographer Kasia Kalua Krynska from Poland was presented with
the 9th Annual International Color Awards Honors in the category of PORTRAIT at a prestigious Nomination & Winners Photoshow streamed Saturday, March 26, 2016 LOS ANGELES.

The international Jury included captains of the industry from Contrasto, Rome; National Gallery of Victoria, Melbourne; Whitechapel Gallery, London; DDB, Berlin; Forsman & Bodenfors, Gothenburg; Art Beatus Hong Kong; DB Agency, Milan; InStyle Magazine, New York and Kunst Haus Wien, Vienna who honored Color Masters in 33 categories.

“It is an incredible achievement to be selected among the best from the 5,678 entries we received this year,” said Basil O’Brien, the awards Creative Director. “Kasia’s Above The Clouds, an exceptional image entered in the Portrait category, represents contemporary color photography at its finest, and we’re pleased to present her with the title of Honorable Mention.”

“The variety of entries was astonishing,” said juror Lilli Langenheim, Senior Art Director of DDB Berlin. “Some of the work is truly powerful; Fine Art, Sport, Portrait, Nature in professional was really inspiring and the Wildlife category in amateur was one of the most exciting,” added jury member Daria Bonera, Owner of DB Agency in Milan.

INTERNATIONAL COLOR AWARDS is the leading international award honoring excellence in color photography. This celebrated event shines a spotlight on the best professional and amateur photographers worldwide and honors the finest images with the highest achievements in color photography.

Exhibition The Promised City – Fortune Seekers – Crossing / Poland, Warsaw

Photo-dokumental series Crossing  by Kasia Kalua Krynska is part of an interdisciplinary project
The Promised City, which is dedicated to the theme of searching for happiness and promise in contemporary cities like Berlin, Warsaw and Mumbai.

Crossing is a series of photographs, which were taken in the Shelter-home for Underage and Penitentiary Institution for girls aged 13-21 years in Warsaw, Falenica. This closed institution with rigid order is established as educational and therapeutic support center for underage girls with difficult past.
